Biography:
Shafqat Amanat Ali (Urdu: شفقت امانت علی) (born in 1965) is a well known and famous Pakistani classical singer. He is the son of late Ustad Amanat Ali Khan. He is the 7th generation of Patiala Gharana. He has been a student of classical music since age four. His first teacher was his grandmother. He is the youngest brother of late Asad Amanat Ali Khan. He received his bachelors degree from Government College University Lahore. He was the lead vocalist of the Pakistani rock band Fuzön. He was also awarded by President’s Pride of Performance on 14th of August,2007.
After the release of “Saager” in 2002 Shafqat leave the band Fuzon in 2006 and start concentrating on his solo career. Based on Folk and Sufi works Shafqat first album “Tabeer” was commissioned and released in mid September 2008. Shafqat also gained fame within India in no by singing songs “Mitwa” for the movie Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, “Yeh Honsla” for the movie Dor and “Bin Tere” for the movie I hate Luv Storys. He released his second solo album called “Kyun Dooriyan” in 2010. It also included a couple of songs namely Kaga Ja and Naal Naal which he had written during his time with Fuzon.
